Historique :	Anciennement datée du 12e siècle. Anciennement conservée dans la niche centrale du retable de Saint-Sernin (XVIIe siècle). En juillet 1971, Pierre Ponsich précise que 'l'enlèvement des repeints à l'occasion de l'exposition de 1966 à Perpignan, a permis de retrouver l'ancienne polychromie (XIIIe siècle) absolument intacte'. La chasuble de la Vierge est caractéristique d'un petit groupe de vierges romanes de Cerdagne comme celle d'Hix (Bourg-Madame), Ger ou Tallo (Catalogne).
